I am always reading about (tube) headphone amplifiers that are NOT syrupy and tubey. For example Valhalla2.
It sounds like there are tons of tubey amps and the Valhalla2 is an exception.
And I would like to try a real tubey sounding amp.
To my biggest surprise I have not found one so far.
Is there any at all?

Have you looked into any of the Woo audio stuff? I previously owned a Wa6 from Woo and it is the definition of tubey. Lol.
The Valhalla is the complete opposite of the Woo regarding sound.

I would say Yulong D18, A18, U18 combination is a tube rollers amp that delivers what you're looking for. It's probably hard to find now though. I know I have mine and I'm never selling it. It's a romantic sounding combination that packs a punch.
