So I was poking around the Westone site today, daydreaming as usual, and I happened to run across the military stuff... along with a price list for the government type organizations.  Get a load of THIS price list!

I didn't really believe it until I stumbled upon the GSAadvantage website and did a quick search for the UM3X.  Good gravy batman.  Westone website price: $549.00  GSAadvantage price? $234.78.  Have a look for yourself.

And it's not just the UM3X, they have ALL of Westone's products.  Anybody work for the government want to open a GSAadvantage.gov account and start taking orders for us all? LOL.

I have an account, but would it not it be unethical to sell for profit or for others?

well I'm sire you would have to prove why you are buying say 10 sets.
But even then, you wouldn't sell them on for a profit (maybe just a little) and be a service to the community - that's when Westone will get back to you and say: you are misusing your "powers"
Correct me if I'm wrong though :)

I think it's not Westone that would care, but whatever government agency that you work for could find out. Abusing your government position like this violates ethical agreements made when hired as a government employee and could be grounds for firing.

Many companies give military personel a discount on products as a way of saying thank you and to help make life affordable since wages in the Armed Forces are often lower than private sector companies.Having said that I imagine they might take exception of any attempt to mass purchase and resell their goods, even if the person was not trying to make a profit. But I am sure helping out a friend here or there would never bother anyone :)..

Guys, I mostly wanted to just share.  My comment of someone taking orders for us all at the end wasn't intended as serious (hence the lol).  I agree with Dubbed, I think it's awesome that companies give a discount the to men and women that are hanging it out on the line for the rest of us.
