The future of today's photographs

Many of us have photos which could be deemed as historical photos of society 1000 years in the future and beyond. However, many of these photos are stored on the Internet somewhere.

My theory is that in 100 years or so, many of people's photos stored on the Internet will be purged or deleted expect for the photos taken by news organizations.

Personally, I think if you have some important photos especially if they are photos that document a part town or some local neighborhood or woods or even photos of your life, they probably should be printed to increase the survival in the future.

Your photos could help future historians figure out what certain locations looked like and other details of our civilization. It may sound trivial now but in 1000 years in the future, every photograph you took will be a treasure to these future historians. So again, you might want to print them since the digital files may be destroyed due to the fragile nature.
