Thanks heaps for that, fdhfdy, answers a few more questions!

CDP-1 CD transport:
  1. Chassis similar to MK V.
  1. DAISy GyrFalcon 8 CD module, tray loader.
  1. Remote control.
  1. TOSLINK, RCA and BNC digital outputs.

And there's a DAC to match:
  1. Wolfson WM8740 DAC chip.
  1. Balanced analogue out on XLRs as well as single-ended on RCAs.
  1. USB input.
  1. 24-bit/192 kHz upsampling.

Production after Spring Festival/Chinese New Year (which I'm guessing means some time in February 2009).

(* Which could be totally wrong for all I know. But it was fun running through the machine translations!)

No problem mrfloopy, I think you got it right for most of them. More detailed info for the pick up system can be obtained by clicking the link below:

The shell used for the dac and cdp is, for sure, same as MK4's.

The sample machine for both dac and cdp will be coming out at end of next month (actually, to achieve the best they can do, quite a few senior audiphiles in China had been invited to have a listen on the imcomplete machine at Yang's home and that would help tonality).

No business during the Chinese spring festival, that's the time for fireworks

. Few days after the festival they will be released, say,in the early Feb. Yang is so confident for his first digital source and hope that won't disappoint us.

It's a transport fhuang....you need to feed the digital out(s) to an outboard DAC.

Maybe I misunderstood your question ?

Peete.

I thought there would be some analog outputs unless they changed it to a pure transport.

I intend to replace my Zero DAC (w/ OPA-Earth) very soon for a self powered USB DAC.

Do we have any idea if LD intends to manufacture a self powered USB DAC that can take 24bit/96kHz source material via USB?
I was thinking to purchase the DacMagic but it is limited to 16bit via USB.
When is this DAC hitting the market?

As far as I know, they're also working on a DAC. Little Tube Maybe that's taking a little longer.

That isn't a just a free talk. The matching machine called dac_1 is on the way either which will have usb outlet to pcs. More, the dac will have both unbalanced and balanced outputs.
