Because as you said, "it last forever"...very low turn around...

Interested to know what you ended up with... I just got a SW-6 and very pleased with the result so far. I'm just wondering now, in order to create that galvanic isolation whether to get another SW-6 or just the LHY-FMC instead.

I have not touched the network setup since getting the SW-6. My next goal/step up is the Nordost QNET and Nordost LPS. But they are very expensive and perhaps the LHY-FMC is something to get in the meantime.

If I do get it I will surely report findings here for you all.

USB I was told by Nordost rep 1 m min. Ethernate whatever

Thanks, I meant for the above Amphenol DAC cable...
What’s a dac cable?

Ok it’s an Ethernet cable…. Your good to go with whatever

I am leaning in to getting an LHY SW6. Maybe galvanic isolation from noisy router with SilentPower LAN iPurifier PRO would work good? Into SW6 isolated input.
I kinda also hopping for Ifi to release an Lan ipurifer pro with 4 Rj45 output ports and one input thats isolated or even better all isolated in same manner. Then i would be probebly just be happy with that one.

Anyone read any comparisons between SW6 and Lan ipurifer pro?

@TheR0v3r compared with more expensive switches and found the Lan ipurifer Pro to beat them.

This is what I wrote:
I’ve heard an upgraded Phoenix Net (better internal power supply) and an upgraded power cord that sounded excellent. But as I wrote so does the LAN iPurifier Pro (LPP)
My setup is very simple:

Ethernet cable -> LPP w/ iFi iPower X -> Ethernet cable -> streamer

There’s no longer noise coming through the networking equipment as far as I can tell and that’s all I’ve wanted.

Nice. I like simple :)
Also the less things powered the better i think.

Acknowledging the benefits of galvanic isolation to reduce or eliminate electrical noise, I’ve observed first hand from trial and error that not only is the quality of the power supply used to (re)generate the square waves that represent the ones and zeros of digital signals in asynchronous data transmission all too audible, but so is the quality of the oscillator used in that regeneration.

Wow, you’re the first one that noticed what I’m trying to do: ”…less things powered”. Kudos!

P.S. And I’m also keeping the networking equipment connected to a separate power strip to avoid SMPS ”leakage” into other equipment.

Agree, or at least I think I do becase I’m not that technically savvy when it comes to hardware.

I’ve probably tried at least 10 different PSU’s to power switches: linear power supplies, the different SMPS’s from iFi and a hybrid from Ferrum. In my system and to my ears the (recently upgraded?) iFi iPower X is what I prefer.

You’ve done far more power supply comparisons than I but for what it’s worth I found a Topping P50 LPS providing 5V into an Ifi DC iPurifier to output even cleaner DC after Ifi’s noise cancelling tech sounds does its stuff sounds rather good indeed. Especially with a Xangsane DC cable in between. I do like Ifi’s stuff, it’s very effective - I have several DC and s/pdif purifiers as well as their LAN iSilencers, though the latter are now deployed well upstream of or outside of my main audio data network signal path.

Yeah, I went *slightly* overboard with the power supply comparisons. :-)

It seems like a very clever setup using the iFi DC iPurifier on the output of LPS. Never tried that.
