@Tubewin, I’ve been following your travails with the SW-10 switch with interest, and I’ve come to the conclusion that you just got a faulty unit. No biggie because they make a lot of them. My knowledge about this topic is cursory at best based upon my own experience. So I would suggest you go back to … Okay. I started internet music streaming using a MacBook Pro 💻 running iTunes, Audirvana, and some other service that I can’t recall. Then I got a Roon streamer/server and ran a cheap 30ft Best Buy Ethernet cable directly into it from an Xfinity CAT6 router. Glory Be! I discovered Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, and a myriad if other streaming platforms. If you try using the simplest listening chain first, and then add them one by one, I’ve found it pretty easy to hear which configuration sounds the best with the music that I like.

If there was a one box small footprint and lightweight internet signal enhancement solution for music streaming then I’d have bought it by now. 😂

@Tubewin, what kind of music do you like to listen to and which streaming services do you enjoy the most? I’m the kinda guy who likes to turn one knob on my hp amplifier, and while I’m getting comfortable the tubes warm up and I can find a song to listen to. I like Roon because I can go into any room in our condo and listen to whatever I want just by using the voice activated feature on my iPhone or iPad. I’m not big on Alexa. She’s listening. 😮

Yeah, it is definitely a rocky start with the SW-10, but even with all of the trouble this faulty unit caused, I have high hopes that a functional SW-10 will improve the overall system. I saw(heard) glimpses of potential in the short time it did work. I also use Audirvana/Qobuz.

In my opinion, devices like the sw-10 and EtherRegen can improve sq. I feel the ER improved my system but I'm not sure how much of that is from the ER itself or how much of it is from the Ferrum Hypsos power supply and neotech nep3200 power cord powering the ER (probably a combination of all of those things). It's such a rabbit hole.

Haha, Jeff Bezos get out of my house!

I'm partial to classical and female vocals, but I listen to everything. Audirvana is my favorite playback software, I like qobuz, but I'm not above listening to compressed files on Youtube. Something about putting a video to the music gives me a lot of enjoyment. I don't use apple when streaming (not that I'm opposed to it, I just never had the need), I plug usb from the jcat card into my dac.

They are very responsive, I'll give them that. They just take a while to actually send out replacements... I've asked for a replacement since Friday, and they haven't given me a tracking number yet.
Remember what you qouted from them...They wanted to ensure that it would not happen again..

They are probably testing it 1000% before sending it to you.

Enjoy the beautiful setup you have. Music is all about waiting anyway🤣

Patience.....

I am definitely not in the "longer you wait the better it is" camp when it comes to replacing a defective unit. But to each their own.
It should be readily apparent if it will work or not. If it connects to a router without issue, pack it up and send it my way...

I guess I don't like waiting for something that shouldn't have arrived broken in the first place. With the hours I spent trying to get it to work, I expected them to be on the ball with that replacement. Again, to each their own, but I rather it be sooner than later...

Im patient because I know Netgate 2100 beats everything I have tried. The next risk Im going to take is a switch from LHY.

If Netgate *beats the LHY Im buying the bigger model for switch and router isolation.

Im that patient

___

*beats=my likings in my setup
