Back in the old days, it was easy to rob a bank. These days with security cameras everywhere, it's impossible. As a result, bank robbing has declined.

It's not because of security cameras considering they can't see through masks, nor can they help interrupt one because a competent bank robber would hit the guard watching the monitors (and it's not like they have live feeds to the police and feds). It's more of all the other security measures, like having a footswitch to automatically call the cops that the teller can hit without being seen doing it, how police can coordinate to corner them, how the FBI would be relentless enough, and then timelocks that means you can only rob the banking at a time when there are too many people, making the situation hard to control (ie you literally have to do crowd control, because casualties make it less questionable if the cops kill you in the shootout).

Traffic cameras are probably more useful than security cameras also. How? You can track the getaway vehicle.

What it all comes down to is that any rational human, even a two-bit crook, will see that the rewards to risk/cost ratio is very poor. There are too many ways you can get caught or killed, and you can only carry so much cash to the getaway vehicle, which can easily get chased if not cornered. And then if you grabbed fresh bags from the vault which means they're full and you don't waste precious seconds tossing cash into empty bags, once they're opened, powder is released, staining the cash and rendering them worthless.
