I just bought my first "NOS" cd. It's Wes Montgomery's So Much Guitar 24k Gold CD remastered by Steve Hoffman.

I started to search around and many artists I like have cd's released by DCC.

I hope to hear a good diference comparing to my other Wes' cd's.

Any other headfiers have or collect DCC Records releases?

Let's use this thread to talk about them!

I actually prefer DCC to MFSL in most, if not all, cases.

My current DCC storage has:
  1. Band on the Run [DCC GZS-1030]
  2. Eldorado [DCC GZS-1041]
  3. Endless Summer [DCC GZS-1076]
  4. Highway 61 Revisited [DCC GZS-1021]
  5. Hotel California [DCC GZS-1024]
  6. Master of Puppets [DCC GZS-1133]
  7. McCartney [DCC GZS-1029]
  8. A Night at the Opera [DCC GZS-1144] (way better than the MFSL release because it manages to "smooth out" the sound and does its best to avoid a master tape glitch where a piano part in Bohemian Rhapsody is distorted and crackly)
  9. Parallel Lines [DCC GZS-1062]
  10. Pet Sounds [DCC GZS-1035]
  11. Ride the Lightning [DCC GZS-1136]
  12. Ringo [DCC GZS-1066]
  13. Soultrane [DCC GZS-1046]
  14. Spirit of America [DCC GZS-1089]
  15. The Summit: In Concert [DCC ARZ-102-2]
  16. Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) [DCC GZS-1039]
  17. 24 Karat Hits! [DCC GZS-1117]
Hopefully most of the album names are familiar; saves me time from mentioning the artists as well.

Heck, what can I say: if I see a DCC disc, I'll take it, even if I never heard the artist before. DCC simply sounds more spacious and real to my ears compared to MFSL releases.

I'm a big DCC fan and also prefer over Mofi. Steve seems to make every project a labor of love and is no doubt one of, if not the finest in the business.

I have and love lots of his compilations as well as many other titles. Listening to DCC cds makes one hear what they have been missing for a long time.

* Highway 61 Revisited [DCC GZS-1021] - I WANT!
* Hotel California [DCC GZS-1024] - I WANT!
* Master of Puppets [DCC GZS-1133] - I WANT!
* A Night at the Opera [DCC GZS-1144] - I WANT!
* Ride the Lightning [DCC GZS-1136] - I WANT!

sigh...I don't have the dough to buy these on ebay.

I have a few MFSL LPs but I really fancy some DCC Doors LPs. I will add it to my ever growing list.

Why did you have to start this thread

DCC was awesome, Manuel, you are onto something good if you can find more at reasonable prices. Sadly, I was not "in the know" when these were being released. I have the collection called Club Verboten, which is very cool, and Steve Hoffman autographed it for me at HeadFest last year. I also have some burned CDs of Van Halen, Queen, Supertramp, Harry Belafonte, Eagles, and the amazing Nat King Cole.

Nat King Cole - Love Is The Thing
Elton John - Greatest Hits I
Van Halen I
Harry Belafonte - Jump Up Calypso
The Eagles - Their Greatest Hits
Groove On! Compilation

All are phenomenal sounding!

I got my Elvis and Van Halen DCC CD, believe it or not, from Best Buy. Back then, BB carried a limited selection of titles. When I purchased my DCC CDs, they were about $35.00/each. I remember the cashier giving me a strange look as I pay for them.

Besides the above titles I mentioned, I also have a sealed Doobie Brothers gold CD from Audio Fidelity, the "child" of DCC. Of course, mastered by Steve Hoffman.

If your wallet can handle it, pick up as many as you can!! It's the best any of the titles will ever sound and they're not getting any cheaper.

I have a few of them, but wish I could afford a ton more.

If you want to find them (DCC's) at a more reasonable price, check out Steve Hoffman's own forums. It's stevehoffman.tv.
