I made a video with my first impressions of the Aune SR7000. It's my first video review, so go easy on me. TL: DR, if you like the AR5000, these are slightly darker, slightly harder to drive, and achieve the same if not slightly better detail separation and soundstage. Same awesome build quality, with a couple improvements and added accessories.

For everyday use on the go, I wonder how the SR7000 (paired with a BT DAC/Amp) compares to something like the Noble Audio FoKus Apollo. Any perspective on that?

Not really, other than my preferences being a wired option that I can make wireless with a dongle than a headphone with built in wireless.

But if you’re in a noisy environment, it’s probably more important to be able to have some ANC than marginally better sound quality.

Hello,

I am in the need of a good closed back headphone, mostly to not bother people around me.

For the main listening I will be using my opens, but for office/gaming desktop PC I have an Element III MK2 Boosted and I would like something light weight and easy to drive, with a good bass, detail and soundstage.

Long ago I had VC KOA that were a super light unit with 430g that I sold and I regret. I remember that headphones with tight bass, great soundstage and detail, so probably I am searching its kind, but if can be even lighter, under the 400g would be great.

I had a look also in the Sony's MDR-Z1R, but I think the headband it is not of my like.

Could you give me recommendations?

Thank you.

Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2 or Aeon 2 Noire are the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever owned. The only thing is they aren’t the easiest to drive but I think your Element would do just fine. The Noire to me have more bass

I can highly recommend the Focal Azurys.

If you want light with high performance get the Azurys, under 300g and very solid technically, detailed and very tight defined bass.

Soundstage is not great, but I don't know of an under 1k headphone that's closed with good soundstage, not that I've tried...Maybe Radiance if you can get it used for that price.

I really want Radiance to have at least outside the ears width

I have the Beyer T5 gen3, which have good detail and great soundstage, and are pretty light (basically same as most other Beyer cans), with pretty decent bass. Not as good sub-bass or resolution on super fine details as some planars I have had....but quite good with imaging and separation.

I do EQ them to tidy up the mid/low transition, but they are easy to drive and this slight adjustment made them good enough to be my only set. YMMV, but I would highly advise looking used as you can get very good deals on basically new headphones. Not sure I feel they are justified for 1k price...but things get weird around that price and upwards.

Describe the soundstage.. how far out from the ears is the width in general for example?

I would describe it as being pretty holographic...so both wide and tall (for headsphones). I haven't tried a huge number of cans, so there may be some like Senn HD8*** that are even more so, but it is the main reason I chose them as my daily drivers. Beside the tuning, I think it is probably the angled drivers which contribute to this sense of space in the soundstage.
