So my 13 yr old was complaining about the sound of some old speakers in the basement... Not being into the kind of music a 13 yr old listens to, I kinda put it off.

Last night pulled the grills off & found the problem:

Guess its time for new speakers down there. BTW, the tweeter holes are where I'd popped in piezos over a decade ago (pulled em out before photo). Off to fleabay for some polk RT25 or something

P.S. I consider myself a sound guy & do feel pretty bad I didn't get to this sooner.

LOL how did you not notice that before?

Hey, I was almost too embarrassed to post this thread, but did anyway as nice Friday entertainment

Didn't notice much because I'd close the door to get away from Green Day, etc. plus he listened to it low as he drove like a maniac in PS/2 games... He has a nice iPod dock speaker setup in his bedroom for better listening.

I'll stop trying to make excuses now, no amount of them can make up for this

BTW, looks like I can get nice small Polks or NHTs for $100 or so shipped so I'll be doing that REAL soon. Also, a Harman Kardon 590i is feeding these & makes it all the more shameful.
