Hi Audiomasters,

I currently have a Digidesign 001 that I have on my PC - foobar 2000 and many DAT 48khz source and other live stuff mainly for my source - with occasionaly hi-bitrate mp3s..... I do some recording from time to time, but most importantly, I want the best sound into my headphone and and 650's.

What would the design of the system be? Killer card > DAC > Headphone amp > 650's type of thing?

btw here is the stats on the 001's headphone output:Stereo with 1/4" TRS connector with gain control
Maximum Output Level: + 17 dBV @ 600 Ohm

Cheers,

A killer setup for HD650 would probably be: EMU 0404 -> Benchmark DAC1 -> [balanced cables] -> [balanced headamp] -> [balanaced replacement cables] -> HD650. Or you could skip the balanced headamp part and use the balanced pre-amp outs on the DAC1 itself. PM Iron_Dreamer. He has this setup and is loving it.
