These guys claim to manufacture the best FM transmitter in the world. Apparently, they have been in Japan and Germany the last few years and are commming to north america. Here is the link to the manufacturer description site: http://koeniglab.earlyadapter.org/whatsFMT.htm , and ebay has them too http://search.ebay.ca/_W0QQsassZdawsoncool . I was wondering if anyone had experience with this company or this product. The company name is Koeniglab???

yea, and apparently they also sell suction holders for car mounts (link at howard forums)

here is another link i found with some pictures - seems like they're advertising at a car event or something.

i don't know what to make of it. at least they are a real company?

i think that if you have stock car speakers it wouldn't really matter whether you got an fm transmitter like iriver's, or one like that. if your speakers were that good you could use an auxiliary input converter.

I don't see how it'd work as well as a patch cord. They might have boosted the transmit power, etc., but FM has attenuated bandwidth. If I recall correctly, FM stereo only transmits sound from 50Hz to 15kHz. CDs, and even MP3s, will give you a 20Hz to 20kHz bandwidth.

The problem with FM transmitters is that you lose the highs and a bit of the lows. Patching your DAP directly into the deck solves this, but I do not believe that any transmitter could.

This may be true, but even the best FM transmitter is still worse than the worst tape deck or line-in system. They're in Canada, so I'm tempted to pick one up. They're great for car rides where people want to cruize tracks and pick out specific songs. Car stereos aren't that great anyways, but with a poor transmitter, you really take a hit in quality.

I've compared the iRiver with the CCrane and the iRiver won out for strength and eveness of signal. I also use the iRiver in the house with the Radio Shack switching power supply which has socket to plug into (about $40). In the car it never fades out. With the iPod Nano and iRiver plugged into the car power supply sockets (my Corolla has two) I listened to a whole Joe Namath bio audiobook (21 hours) on a recent long trip to Canada. Only had to switch frequencies once when I encountered interference from a local station in Minneapolis.
