What are the 3 best headphone amplifiers for the HD600s. What do they cost? (there is no limit on the price)

According to people, in no particular "best sound" order: Blockhead, Cary 3000E, Melos.

I would include the Max in any "best HD600 amp" list.

Ahh, I only left out the Max 'cuz Blockhead is one up on Max. I'm just trying for variety here. It'd be boring if the list were Blockhead, Max, MOH.

It would be good if you can have a few configurations setup for you to do a blindfold test. You sit on a couch, then plug the HD600 into the numbered sockets on the armrest. At the end of it, you grab a mic and yell, "I'll have 1 of 3 and 4 of 6". They charge you cheaper because you just ordered 5 of the same walkman.

It's seems to be the Max, Cary SEI and Blockhead in no order.

Melos SHA-1 is positively, definitely, absolutely one of the three. Not sure of the other two... RKV? Blockhead?

Not including a tube amp in the Sennheiser 600 hierarchy is... well... just wrong.

If you like the smooth tube sound, the microZOTL may very well be a candidate, considering that certain people (Kurtw) prefer it to the Max.

Also consider the Sugden Headmaster, which some also prefer to the Max.
