So in the past year, I was in different parts of the south (south east of USA). I was in Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia.
But I think the Atlanta accent is different. It's very subtle and hard to distinguish and identify. Maybe my ears are not properly trained. I can identify the New York accent and other accents like the Boston and Philadelphia accent but Atlanta and other southern accents can be harder for me since I did not grow up in the south.
