I'm building a Strain amp and I'd like to test the power supply before building the audio component but I know power supplies can raise voltage above rated level when no load is put on it. Is it safe to turn it on for a few seconds to test the voltage and make sure it atleast works/doesn't blow up (I know the voltage reading will be a bit off)?
