Hi guys, I was curious about test gear being sent out from the manufacturers and what it is classified as when it crosses customs. This is, for example, for public testing during meets and reviews.

Right now, I'm receiving gear from Headroom, and I'm getting dinged by Canada Customs - quite heavily, in fact, considering that I'm being lent about 3500USD worth of gear for the Vancouver meet, none of which I paid for.

Just wondering whether I'll have to suck up and pay the 14% tax that I'm being charged.

Can you elaborate on the re-claiming procedure?

No because I have not yet had to undertake it. However I would do it via the post office and if they didn't know, I'd ask for instructions from HM Customs.
