I just tested two pairs of klipsch s4i on an iPhone 4. Both sets amplified background noise which negates the noise isolating effect. I could hear the television just as loud as I had no earphones in my ears. This feedback happens during phone calls only. I put down my coffee mug on the table and it sounded like i slammed it down. I can hear myself type during a call as if the keyboard was beside my ear. I bought these based on reviews on sound quality and the fact that I travel and frequently make calls when driving and in the airport. I would not be able to hear the caller speak over the background amplified noise. The stock iPhone earbuds do not have this issue. Has anybody else had a similar experience? I tried the the s4i on an android phone and did not get the same feedback. I looked for a setting on the iPhone which would relate to this issue, like 'block/accept background noise' so people could still hear what is happening in their surroundings like an approaching car. I didn't find any such settings on the iPhone. Whe I make a call I want to isolate the caller and hear them clearly, unfortunately this is not the case.
