Teralink X2 with battery VS Hiface USB

I am considering Teralink X2 with 6x AA batteries against unmodified Hiface one (not two).

I don't want to modify Hiface. Which is better? Which is more recommended?
 
Every time I see people talking about Hiface, are they actually referring to this small USB plug? or referring to an older version of Hiface?
