I've bought a tecnoarm, seemed like a decent upgrade from the Rega and I already have the origin live mount on my Technics. I have been using the Grado Gold, but am having trouble getting it to sing (such a fussy cart)

I'm using a Musical Fidelity V-LPS phono that my local dealer recommended, it's pretty decent for the cash. We did some comparisons to some higher end stuff in his store.

So, it's new cartridge time...Do you guys have any favorites at the moment? Keep the budget under $500

thanks in advance!

Maybe one of these modern MM cartridges like the goldring 2000 series or ortofon 2M, have the 2m Red and it's quite good, the Bronze with fine line stylus should have far better trackin ( the Red elliptical stylus distorts quite a bit in the inner grooves ) and fits your budget.

Otherwise you could look for an high output moving coil which your phono preamp should handle quite well.

If you want to save some money, pick up a 440Mla, for less than 200$ it's a bargain...
