after you click links to images on geocities, all you have to do is put a space after the URL and it will work.

Click the link. When the new window opens up, press stop. Click at the end of the address bar and then press the spacebar. Press enter. The image should now magicly work.

Yeah, Geocities is kinda anal-retentive about external linking to images on their webspace. Fortunately, there are simple ways to get around their checks, one of which was described above.

stuckie27, cool choice on the snowman! I was half-expecting it to be one of the mutant snowmen. Go ahead and put it up for your avatar, man. Oh, and do you think you could put "Team Calvin & Hobbes" above the snowman's head, so it's easier to read? It'd also look really cool, w/ the snowman looking up at it.

Homestead lets you link externally. Well, they don't advertise it but you can do so.

Stuckie, you can use Geocities. Just rename the avatar file to another extension, .txt works fine.
