Talk me through headphone recabling questions?

G'day i am considering recabling some K340s. I opened them up and i am a little confused.

1. The headphone cable is 4 strands of wire 2 to the left driver 2 to the right.

2. assuming point 1 is correct. I noticed on the driver there are 2 wires soldered to board. Let's say i'm looking at the right driver. Is one wire a ground wire and one a signal wire. If so, do the those 2 wires get connected to the right ring on the 1/4 plug or one to ground and one to signal and how do i know which is which? I guess the same question applys to the left driver as well.

If this makes any sense, please help...

Yes, one is ground and one is signal on each side. On the headphone jack side there will be two wires connected to the outermost jacket, these are both ground. If I recall correctly, the tip is for the left channel and the ring next to the tip is for the right channel. Inside each side of the headphones there will be two connections, however, where they connect depends on manufacturer and model of the headphones.
