Hi All, I have a pair of T51p’s and as you can see from the photo I have managed to tear the fabric that is covering the driver (bottom left of picture).
The headphones are away to be re-cabled and I haven’t been able to test them since the fabric ripped. I’m wondering how much this could affect the sound and if it does what would be the best course of action. I’m thinking I could recover both drivers with a similar fabric or remove the fabric altogether?
I’m a bit out of my depth as I've never modded headphones. I feel the T51p’s lack some sparkle and high frequency energy, so I was wondering if removing the fabric could help improve this? Or maybe the fabric is there as more of a dust guard? Any advice would be appreciated : )
Thanks!
