I have often thought P-SE sounds a lot like an extremely high quality bookshelf speaker. The openness of sound is very refreshing, but some might crave for an extra subwoofer. The -SE will appeal to those who want a flavor of the P but with a brighter tonality at a much lower price point.

The Solitaire P remain one of my favorite headphones. Even up next to the Susvara, CRBN and others, I just love the rich but clear sound of the P. I am in NYC and I just wanted you all to know that Audio46, is now carrying the P. There can't be many dealers in the US who carry these. I was looking for some replacement pads, but they don't have them in just yet. The P's are at the top of the planar headphone price range, but I think they are worth it.

How would you compare them to the CRBN?The Solitaire P remain one of my favorite headphones. Even up next to the Susvara, CRBN and others, I just love the rich but clear sound of the P. I would say that the CRBN is more forward in the mids, and a little brighter in the treble. Surprisingly, the CRBN has very good bass. The Solitaire is every bit as detailed as the Susvara. It has a unique 3D holographic sound stage that is very engaging. The bass is as clear as a bell and goes very deep. Some would say the mids are pulled back, but I view this as part of the darker tuning which I like. Both headphones are very comfortable, but the CRBN might have the edge as it is lighter. Finally, I would have to say they are different flavors, with the Solitaire coming out on top for my (classical) listening preferences.

I happen to think the P is at the very top end of the TOTL HP's in the market but I think they make a mistake pricing them at 6900 dollars in the US..very few people will ever hear them at that price point...at say 5K I think they would be seen as a contender for the very bestThe Solitaire P remain one of my favorite headphones. I agree with you $6,900 is a though pill to swallow. Is it technically better than the X9000? They are 11% higher in price.I happen to think the P is at the very top end of the TOTL HP's in the market but I think they make a mistake pricing them at 6900 dollars in the US..very few people will ever hear them at that price point...at say 5K I think they would be seen as a contender for the very best
I am interested on them but not at this price….

That X9000 costs 8200$ over here, which makes it even more expensive than the Susvara which is 8000$I agree with you $6,900 is a though pill to swallow. Is it technically better than the X9000? They are 11% higher in price.

Here the X9000 price is $6,200 and I placed my order when they announced it at the wrong price of $5,800 and they honored their mistake. That X9000 costs 8200$ over here, which makes it even more expensive than the Susvara which is 8000$
I also was able to get the Susvara new for $4,500.
I think the Solitaire P is beautiful and really grabbed my attention but I have to find a way to listen to it first because I asked two people from here that a totally trust their opinion and what they said was it was good but not for that price. That put me on the fence and the only way is to listen to it by myself.

@jlbrach your praise of the P's has influenced me in a bad way, lol. I think I'm going to buy a pair of these to try out, in the hope that they might replace the Susvara (probably not permanently, just while I focus on electrostatic gear for a while) and Meze ELITE whilst also being easy to drive. They seem an interesting headphone, and I've been curious about them since they were released. Will report back if I do indeed buy a pair with some thoughts on their sonics : )
