Looking for the best bang for the buck for playing cd's at home in the $250-$300 range. Semi transportable would be good but not absolutely necessary. Radio not necessary...speakers either for that matter. Main use would be with ER-4P's, -S's and maybe E4's...critical listening.
I originally thought about a mini-systems (Denon/Onkyo) but the price is much higher and I'd be paying for more than I need (75-80% use would be with IEM's). Can just the deck portion be purchased and add my own speakers later if I chose?
Or, can I get an amp + PCDP with decent EQ that will sound as good or better than a fairly decent mini system?
