Hi,

i'd like to know your opinion about sonic youth experimental records series "SYR". These are released on their own label and not on geffen. What do you think about these? Which are your favorites?

Hmm…thought some fan would have chimed in by now…

The one I own, Goodbye 20th Century, is a curiosity at best. One piece, credited to Yoko Ono, is basically Kim and Thurston's daughter Coco letting out an ear-splitting shriek; at least it's short. The other one I've heard, the Anagrama EP, is more what you might expect from an experimentalist rock band. There're a couple of improvs that sound like jet explosions on it. Hope this helps...
