Hello,

What is the recommended way of switching up to 192/24 S/PDIF on coax as in N-to-1 ?
Backgrounds: I need to switch a CD-player, LD-player, DVD-player, Squeezebox Touch, etc into my Zhaolu D3.5 w/
LM49710's.
BNC connectors are a plus.
Passive? Active? SDI? Brands? What to look for?

Please post!

Kind regards,
Udo

Do you need to "switch" or do you mean "connect"?
What is N-to-1?
Do the sources you want to connect(?) use optical or coaxial outputs?

For connecting we have coaxial cables.
But when we want to use the CD instead of the Squeezebox, the disconnecting and connecting of the cables becomes cumbersome and tedious.
N-to-1 means we have number N sources that need to connect to 1 DAC
We want to use coax.
And we want to use a switch type of device so that we can choose which player is connected to the DAC via buttons.

Yes, but will the signal integrity be OK for 192/24?

In that case we'll invest in one to try....!

CD-audio is 16-bit/44.1K,
DVD audio normally maxes out at 24-bit/48K.
I doubt LD-player would be any higher.
S/PDIF optical/coaxial will easily do 24-bit/96K

So why do you have (need?) to have 24-bit/192K?

Because we can. There's several recordings here that sound great in 192/24.
These mainly come in via the Squeezebox.
DVD-A can also carry higher samplerates.

Well, here's some feedback...

I got me such a BNC->4*BNC switchbox and connected the CD, the DVD and the Squeezebox to the Zhaolu D3.5 w/ SS3601s.
At 192 Khz audio still sounds fine!
I.e.: the cable goes from Squeezebox -> cinch-to-BNC-adapter -> BNC-BNC cable -> switchbox -> BNC-BNC cable -> cinch-toBNC-adapter -> Zhaolu D3.5.
The Zhaolu will get a BNC connector instead of the RCA.
Also I could find a shorter RCA-BNC cable....

THANKS for the tips!
