Hey all! Just bought an used iPod Classic 160GB so I can carry al my music in ALAC without worrying about space too much. I used to use my 2nd/3rd generation iPod touch 8GB. I used it in combination with the Sennheiser IE80, no amps. Sound was great. But I wonder if there are any difference between these two in terms of sound quality ? Never felt like using an amp on my touch, seemed like a waste since my IE80 got enough power from it. Do I need an amp on my iPod classic ? I do see a lot of people using amps with an LOD cable on iPod classic but thats mainly if they are using large headphones. Anyway, Thanks in Advance!

I have listen to an iPod classic, but that was 1)an older generation (older generation 80GB) and 2) the guy used 128/256kbs mp3's so thats not really comparable material. Havent recieved my iPod yet.

I think if you're satisfied with the way they sound with your touch you'll be fine with the classic.
