Does anyone know of a source for a good switched volume pot for my project (in progress). It seems this is the way to conserve front panel space for a cleaner look. I am wondering why no one seems to use this consideration in their projects.
Is there a problem with this implementation?

I simply don't know of any high quality switched POTs. You could probably rig up something useing a regular pot and a microswitch, but I prefer to just put a switch on the front panel.

I don't know of any sources for good switched pots, but to conserve panel space, my current project uses a switched IEC socket mounted in the rear instead of a front-mounted power switch. It's simply located in the back right corner of the chassis where it's easily accessible. Cuts down on the wiring hassles and works great.
