That's a pretty nice OOB solution if you ask me...

Seems like a good deal. I wonder if they have a package deal for their special Millet Hybrid with the k701, pimp version preferably. If so, I will get it.

The thing thats nice about the package deal is that it makes it easy for clueless people like me to pick out an amp and headpone combo without thinking too hard about it. And coincidently, I plan on eventually getting the K701. Headroom does the work and research while a lazy but demanding consumer like me can just buy it and enjoy. I like that.

The amp in the package comes with the $250 DAC module.

Normally,
K701 $299
Desktop Amp $599
Desktop DAC $249 included
Total $1147

A lot of people interested in the Micro Stack and K701 would be wise to consider spending the $100 more and get a lot more inputs if portability was not an issue.

If portability is an issue then I wouldnt suggest the microstack anyway. Even transportably, the desktop would serve better. Plus you can upgrade to your heart's dellight

If I had known about this deal I would have gone this route, since I spent a serious amount of time looking at the headroom desktop amp.

Soundwise though, I don't regret the choices I've made.
