I enjoyed her 'On Photography' book of essays.
I'm less familiar with her more common contentious political opinions.
Regardless of what they were, "unique thinkers" are always welcome and to be missed.

I found her stuff very interesting, though not written in a particularly elegant style. She was on the leading edge of a number of ideas that have become very popular in academic circles in recent years.
