Hi guys,
So I basically searched the head-fi forums and although found 2-3 relative threads about it none gave a clear answer and the one who did got me confused since I don't know technical headphones terms (english isn't my main language). So sorry in advance for making a new thread about this, but I'm in a hurry and need to buy one since I'm going to leave the country in the following days, hope you understand

The question: HD668b vs 681evo? Which one should I buy for casual stuff like gaming, listening to music & etc on my pc & phone?
Looking for some response like 668b has a better soundstage, is somewhat clearer/neutral; but 681evo has less treble & a lower impedance so it's going to be a little bit louder or idk. Basically advantages/disadvantages of one over the other and your personal opinion on which one is better

I own both and really like both. IMO the HD681 EVO has a bit more bass, a little less sound leakage and a little smaller sound stage then the HD668b. I prefer the HD668b but I'd say you aren't going to go wrong with either for the price.

I have both as well. I'd say the 668b is substantially brighter with a slightly bigger soundstage. HD681 Evo has better bass extension and slightly better detail. They're both good. Just different flavors of the same thing. Biggest difference IMO is bass vs. treble. If you like up-tilted treble, go 668b. If you prefer sub bass/bass extension, go HD681 Evo.

Can you compare the treble on 668 amd 681 evo? Is 668's treble far better than 681 evo?

668B treble is much, much brighter and at times even sibilant, to me. The HD681 Evo treble is much, much more smooth and easy on the ears. They are completely different treble presentations.If you like your treble bright, go with the 668B. If not, take the Evo (which also has way more bass).

Have you tried the 681 (base version)? Is the $10+ upgrade to 681 evo is worth or not much?

Sorry--have not heard the base version. I do recommend the Evo version, though.
