Hi guys,

I'm getting extraordinarily slow ipod classic+rockbox performance. It seems like its taking forever for it to switch between songs. I'm going to try deleting any and all album artwork from the ipod because its not like i ever look at the screen, and that seems to be part of what is causing the slowdown. I'm also going to run a defrag on the drive and see if that fixes anything. And im also gonna do a disk check/fix.

Do you have any other suggestions?

EDIT: cant defrag because it isnt that kind of format. duh.

I just re-installed Rockbox on my iPod Classic, and indeed it feels like it accesses the HDD a lot more often. I asked about it in #rockbox, but I haven't gotten any replies yet (probably because the dev in charge of the port wasn't there).

Deleted database from emcore menu, couldn't defray or anything. I deleted everything from the folders that wasn't music and I removed all album art too. Its fast as heck now. It was fast before the database cleaning and after album art removal BT it's positively flying now.

I re-initiated the database without deleting it (the process does it already), and sure enough, everything's a lot faster. I guess something went wrong the first time around.

I don't know what's up with my build as I tried reinitialized the database. It seemed to be getting slower and slower evert time i added songs. That's why I tried the emcore deletion version. I'm on a pretty old build. I posted in the Rockbox thread with it
