IMO, absolutely no contest at all. the EBs have so much bass that they sound (to me) overbearing, and cover up any mid and high range clarity and detail. the sound is still warm and fun if you don't mind the excessive bass, but the super.fi 5 EB are hardly up to "audiophile" standards, as far as overall SQ goes. If you want to compare the UM2s to any Ultimate Ears IEM, the super.fi 5 pro is the closest match

thats because its not burned in.
i swear they sound amazing after clocking 150 to 200 hours.
no longer muddy. no longer overbearing. the bass no longer covers any of the mid bass nor muddies the mids.
