I’m curious to know why TOTL DAPs get very limited coverage here or no coverage at all?What am I missing?

Because TOTL set ups generally do not include portable gear for the reasons of portability usually sacrificing some performance. DAPS were always and usually discussed in the IEM world. I enjoy daps but from own experience, when going portable, no matter how much I attempt to scale, it never reachs to desktop sound, so I gave up and value portability above all when using IEMs.

I found it for example bit annoying to juggle the dap, iem cable, iems, and potential portable amp when traveling, especially when as mentioned prior that it does not give that desktop sound that wows. But of course this is just one guy's opinion.

Though I can see from your perspective in that well a TOTL DAP is TOTL for that category... of portable DAPS.

They Do get coverage. Stuff like the Astell and Kern players, Fiio, ibasso, Cayin and so on all get coverage.
