[I was asking about where to buy the KSC75 at first, but decided to just go for a real cans]

Thinking about getting a Grado, or Beyer, or anything that's very different than Senn580 (since I've had my fun with it). Those > $200.00 cans should easily kick Ksc75's butt, right?

I listen to almost everything, pop, rnb, hiphop, jpop, kpop, cpop, and jazz. Mostly for mp3s- averaging 256kbps. I have the emu1212m, and Original Master Amp.

I'm really looking for: instrument separation (instead of blending like the 580), punchy bass. Doesn't really care about soundstage.

I tried Grado(60,125,225, and 325) but I couldn't hear any differences when I'm playing my mp3s from my "Free" mp3 player.

What Wid said. Try some Grados. Go to a meet.

Search and read. Search and read.

I remember buying my two Koss KSC-75 earphones from Amazon.com a few years ago when they were on sale. I paid only $26 for the two sets which was a deal back then. But I think I see them even cheaper these days. So you should be able to get a great deal on them. They are great cheap phones for portables.

what about iems?
maybe pick up a pair of etymotic er4p
best instrument separation i have ever heard

if you want stick to a can
maybe an akg501 if you can pick one up

i've never heard a beyer, but the dt880 is at the top of my list of headphones to buy
once wallet fattens up after my recent rs2 buy

But isn't ER4 sound rather thin in the bass department? And so does, the 501.

And about the Grados, I can't even hear the differences between those 60, 125,225 and the old 325. Besides, it still sounds similar to my Senn 580, they differ only slightly. BTW, I tried those cans for about 1 hour, with a crappy mp3 player, but I don't know if my emu1212m and an original master would make show that much of a difference; not to mention my kind of music is rather mainstream ones.

Isn't that similar to the senn580? Emphasizing the lower/bass department? I already have a senn ,so I'd love to try a totally different sound.
