Hey all, im kinda new to this whole thing. Im looking to set up a pair of good headphones on my computer. I need them to be open-back, since this is for work and i need to be able hear people trying to talk to me. Also, i wanted to get a good soundcard for it as well. Id like for it to have EAX capabilities, but its not entirely nescessary. I dont know if Id need anything else, but i have about $400 max to spend. Let me know what you think, thanks.

If you want EAX and great gaming capability, get the x-fi xtrememusic sound card. It has very decent sound quality. If you really want the best quality, get the m-audio revo 5.1, but you will be giving up eax and other gaming features. As for headphones, sounds like an HD580 and some kind of amp would best suit you.
