Merry Xmas all!
I have owned my HE-500s for years and I absolutely adore them. They sound like perfection with my schiit lyr and telefunken tubes. I did some research and ended up getting the E-Mu Teak headphones.
I'm not really impressed, they sound pretty good at low volume but once i crank it up the bass gets too loose and the details get blurred. Really disappointed. It's not that the headphones don't sound good... They do... They just don't sound anywhere near as good as my hifiman.
So I'm wondering if I should have gone for the Audeze LCD-2. Basically looking for something like my he-500 or better... Something with a slight warm signature but is detailed and fast without being exhausting. My he-500 makes everything so fun to listen to and I've been spoiled by it greatly.
