I'm currently using the LCD-3 with the Gungnir/Mjolnir combo and I love it. The problem is there's an intermittent buzzing in the right channel that appears to come from my house's electricity and isn't Schiit's fault (they replaced the Mjolnir once). A hospital-grade transformer does nothing. This makes me want to use them a lot less than I should. I absolutely love them but the buzzing from the Mjolnir drives me up a wall.


 


So, I'm looking for either a balanced amp that can be used with the Gungnir for probably around $600, or a new combo for around $1000. I would prefer for the combo to be balanced as I have a Bellatone cable, but that's going to be impossible at that price point I think. I would need to sell the combo (or the Mjolnir) first so this is why the prices are fairly tight.

For the amp only option, check the Matrix Quattro - it's fully balanced, sounds good and will fit your budget. 
The only odd thing is they use 2 x TRS connectors for balanced, which is hardly a standard.
