I love the navy books. I just started reading them at the beginning of the summer. I have learned a lot. If you are having any trouble finding them, just google "navy electronics" and the first hit will be links to all of the books.

get some similar books from your friends that are doing engineering (the first year books).

Those usually gives you the "OH so this is how it works". A complete understanding of a subject is much more important IMO and engineering books are the way to go.
