How about some Pantera?
The "best of" double disc set is pretty good.

I know, too mainstream?

Whatever man, mainstream or not, Dimebag pwned, RIP....

Breaking Benjamin has a couple of good songs, they usually ruin a lot of their songs with cheesy choruses, but overall pretty decent.

I havent given much attention to lyrics, Corrosion of Confirmity maybe???

You'll probably like Godsmack as well. Try Awake and their self titled album, they are quite good.

Iced Earth, with Matt Burlow , again, not sure about lyrics and stuff, has a bit of screaming here and there, but overall very tight sounding band with some neat drumming. Check out Burnt Offerings | The Dark Saga | Something Wicked This Way Comes | Horror Show

I second the Deftones and Killswitch Engage and Clutch, also add Demon Hunter, Reveille, Project 86, Norma Jean, um, those are the ones I can think of off the top of me head.

Evergrey fanboy here.

According to one reviewer on Amazon: "there's only two kind of people - those who heard Evergrey and then these unfortunate ones who never did".
