soo i made a thread a couple days ago about which IEM to get for around 130-170 range. i am down to 3(4) choices, and here they are

UE Super fi 5 Pro
Atrio M5
Atrio M8 (cant find any information on this one, info would be greatly appreciated)
Denon AH-C700

i plan to use these with a zune 30, 1st gen nano, nokia n800, PC. All unamped. Listen to a wide variety of music. any other suggestions will also be greatly appreciated.

Most people would prefer the atrios and denons above the UE. I'd personally pick the atrios just b/c they provide good bass for my music and aren't just canalphones like the denons.

UE Super.fi Pro - great bang for the buck. Great sound. Really good base. I find mine almost as good as my Triple.fi, but cheaper!

No love for Shures? I find them to be really enjoyable.

Ack !!
Have you been reading the threads on the FreQs?

I was considering a similar list to yours.. but including the Shure e4c's

Need to replace the e4's (that's another story), but now I've also added the FreQs to the list.
There isn't much review data yet, being they are so new, and I'd like to get some feedback on the mid-grade Freqs (2-way) which fit very easily into your price range, even if you pay to have impressions made, instead of attempting to do them yourself.

The only thing I'd like to see is the cable exit UP so that it can go over the ear.. but I'd bet they'd do that mod for you if you asked..

SuperFi 5's for sure. They own the e4c's in every department, especially bass, which is lacking for the Shure. The SuperFi 5's are also dual drivers, and are quite a bit cheaper than the e4c's. My second choice would be the Atrios M5/M8.

i was considering the SE210 model based on very favorable recommendations from a sound technician i work with (for the 150ish price range). however, i have a read many a threads that basically states not to bother with any SE models from shure. the e4c seems nice but 170 is already stretching my range (originally 130-150) so i want something that i can afford and love for at least a year.

SF5,or save and get some Livewires.

I'd stay away from Shure given the
competition.
