B&W subwoofers ( I don't know about others ) accept line level and speaker level inputs . What are the pros and cons of these two types of inputs ?

I know two, there may be others- The line level input will probably have lower distortion as it has less electronic pathways to travel through, however, the speaker level input may sound better because the main speakers and the sub will be voiced "closer" to each other because the main amps "character" will also be present in the subwoofer.
