Hello,

I got a ZuneHD and simply love it. But over the years, the phone jack is worn out. I get another ZuneHD to keep my music in the gym running.
However, it's time to go for a alternative. Simply not sure what's the right choice. Maybe you can help me.

The device should be / have

- compact enough to carry in the pocket of my sportswear
- easy to transfer songs (got a few iPod touchs, but don't like them this much in this case.)
- stable amping for Sony EX1000 / FidueA83
- color display
- very good built quality and long battery life.

What to buy? Costs are not a dealbreaker if the device works nice for me.

Love this forum :)

Having had a ZuneHD (still using) I would recommend a Sony NWZ-ZX1(128gb) or F887(64gb). Meets all the criteria although the battery life could be better. My ideal player would be a ZuneHD that sound and a capacity of the Sony NWZ-ZX1.
Astell and Kern AK100 is also very good but not as nice to use although has better battery life.
Good luck

ZX1 sounds like a good idea, or the newer cheaper A series an F806 could also work.

Personally I run my Fidue A83 with Colorfly C3 by choice. 15-18 hours battery life but small LCD screen. (not colour)

Hi,

the Sony looks good, no doubt.

I try out the iBasso DX90 at the moment. Display, battery life and size are not ideal.  Custom EQ is a small plus vs. the ZuneHD.

Still prefer the ZuneHD, but also like the DX90.

Maybe later I will give the Sony a chance. Does it has a custom EQ ?

You can go to the Google play store and load EQ10 or WinAMP or whatever into it, but yes, it does have custom EQ.  I have the F807, DX90, and AK120, plus a ZuneHD 32, so let me know if you have questions about any of them.  Also, a lot of people doesn't know that the Sony F806/7 and 886/7 (not ZX1) comes with active noise cancel pair with their stock IEM, which is decent.

Hi,
thanks. Got the DX90 here, but sold it due it's uncomfortable sizing and form.

I'm into my ZuneHDs again. :)

But ... I will give Sony a chance. What is the difference between Sony F806 and 886 and ZX1?  (Beside the incuded headphones)

The 886/7 is the update version of the 806/7 with updated Android and Hi-Res support, and the ZX1 is the top line model.  However, at this point I suggest you get a cheap 806 and toy around with it to see if it is up to your liking.  You can jailbreak the 806/7 now so that's a plus.
