Heya,

So I have a sub downstairs and oddly enough it just stopped working. It's a polk audio PSW505 12". It has not been dropped or anything. It just suddenly went poof. I tried it on two different receivers just to make sure it wasn't that. Still no dice. I changed cables. No dice. I isolated it in completely on two different receivers with two different cables and played with settings to make sure it wasn't just being cut out of the circuit. I hooked up some portable players to it just to feed it any signal, since it's self powered. Should hear something at least. The only time I hear anything is when I turn the volume to the maximum position, and it does this really weak flubb not and then but then stops. I'm not sure if the power source inside is dead and that is the problem. Or if I can open it and fix it. Or if I have to just buy a new one.

Any ideas?

Edit: Solved. Blown voice coil. Warrant replacing it. Polk Audio customer service is awesome. They replace it for free. Woo!

Very best,
