They're in Seattle, Washington. I'm not sure if shipping would be prohibitive to Australia, but it's certainly worth looking into, IMO. Also, check out www.hometheaterforum.com. The DIY section should have a lot of threads on building adire subs.

If you decide not to go the DIY route I would suggest the adire audio Rava sub as well. It is a great sub for a system that is primarily used for music ... but ... if you are looking for wall shakin' bass for home theater this might not be the best choice. If you are considering going the DIY route I would contact Dave Ellis from http://www.ellisaudio.com/ and ask if he could share his thoughts on sub woofer enclosure/woofer choices.

it's more a movie sub but its really quite good at your price range.

It might be a while though now since I think im gonna ditch the sub for a month or so and get dad a nice slr for father's day.

Btw do you know any good shops in Sydney for hifi gear?

Right now, the m&k 75s are nice

I hear they are almost as bad as campsie hifi at ripping you off.

Eastwood hifi is good.
Jifi junction has good eq but they pull a fast 1 on ya if you're not looking.

but only len wallis has the best range of audio goods.
where else in sydney can you try out the whole sennhesier range, stax! and speakers + electronics.
