Not here, since I don't own the RE0. I didn't compare the RE0 to the S4, only to the IM590. But I do have some reference to RE phones, having owned the RE2 and RE3 (and I am getting a pair of 252s as well to review). Strange how HD seems to have gotten one pair of IEMs very right, but the rest are just okay. They should have stuck to the RE0 housing in my view for the latest release.

I guess when the OP says good to great bass, the RE line doesn't come to mind. I know it's there, but they are just not bassy phones by and large. Details yes, bass no. I have the 616s and had the ER4P and while the bass is there, it's not REALLY there (unless you amp or EQ it out of them).

oh i hear that, i dont know what they were smoking when they came up with the 252 enclosure

NE-8 have no bass. You can cross them off.

Thanks! Think I'm leaning towards s4, s4i, or c551. Would the s4i be EXACTLY same as s4 sound wise? I would assume but you never know.

Well, my set happens to be an S4i so if they are different that would certainly explain a few things, but I seriously doubt it.

Also, I have only heard the C551 briefly but found them to be a bit muddy. They definitely aren't on the same level as the S4.

I know the RE0 was originally $199, but their value has not held - unlike true top tier phones.

But since the 252 is being touted as superior by the man who owns the company, I guess I will have to use the 252 as my guide.

In the end, I would not be surprised if the OP gets the RE0 and immediately says, "Where's the bass?"

well got to dissagre about them not being worth $200, i feel they so are. so near the ER4 but nicer.

i know head direct may be saying the 252 is better but, not so much. it may technically be better but the 0 is far more spectacular in its presentation, makes so more fun i feel.

yeah i agree, the op just isnt going to like the bass level.

i still say denons, btw the C751 is on amazon for like us$100 thats in budget and IMO well worth the money

Is there a noticeable difference between the c751 and the c710?

I see them both here for $100 with free shipping:
Ear Buds/Earphones

They also seem to have a reference c751 version for $120. Maybe that's just a listing error.

Looks like my list is down to:
Klipsch s4, s4i
Denon c751
Denon c710

yes, a noticeable difference. i personally like the 751 more but many like the 710 more. the 751 needs more to power to drive it and the 710 is more sensitive. both are pretty great though.

oh the cable on the 751 is leaps and bounds better than the one on the 710

I also liked the 710s, but in the end sold them for the S4 (had to choose one). But either one, to me, is a good purchase for your needs. I also had the 751s, but wasn't fair and sold them before proper burn-in. Out of the box, they sounded harsh. They also are pretty clunky and nowhere near as comfy as the S4.
