Saw a Topaz posted for sale and it made me wonder if I should upgrade...

Currently using Creative X-Fi Xtrememusic + Corda Headfive


Would I benefit much from switching to a StyleAudio Topaz?

I use HD650, DT770/80, ATH-A700

I have a Topaz - its a good DAC but a so-so headphone amp. You can do better for the same money. If and when I get my act together, the Topaz will be doing DAC-only duty.

My Emerald will be DAC only as well once I get a tube amp. The Topaz is great if you have run optical to it. I might actually get another dac with coax in so I can utilize the M2Tech Hiface, which bypasses Window's sampler to allow 24 bit playback.
