hi currently have the FLC 8S with my chord mojo for portable use.

considering stepping things up: AK Rosies or AK T8ie mkii....(both on sale at my local vendor)
I love detail, a good soundstage, balance and great quality (but not overly done) bassslam.
I was thinking of awaiting the upcoming FLC Celeste TOTL but not unsure.

suggestions are welcomed...even for something lower priced too.
thanks

I think you can get different sound quality. Better is a subjective thing. I think the FLC8S hits the threshold of balanced audiophile with musicality. Definition that you can groove to.

There are other good choices but I would look at those as augmenting your hifi experience rather than replacing it.

Just switch the UM Maverick a few month ago. I won't say it would be an upgrade of FLC but both have different presentation. Um being a little darker with a 3D kinda soundstage. Vocal is nice but not as mesmerizing as the FLC's Gold filter. Treble on the UM is rolled off, decay faster than FLC.
Both have their strong point I would say. :L3000:

might be selling my mojo/ipod touch to try out the ibasso dx200...all in one vs a brick.
i've read balanced and the new amp module makes a diff too.
we'll see
