I'm about to get the Stello DA100 to use with my on board SPDIF out to feed the Heed+ K701 , DT990.

Do you think this an overkill?

Nothing is overkill in this hobby, as long as it pleases your ears. Heck i don't mind to pair a Benchmark DAC1 with a basic cmoy anyway.

I'm just about to receive a Stello DA100 to use with my Heed and k701s, using a Squeezebox 3 as a transport. I'll post my impressions once I've had a proper listen.

Yeah it's strange. I didn't really post much about the DA100 before I ordered it. Maybe a Stello DA100 appreciation thread is in order.

I'm getting my DA100 tomorrow.

I love my DA100, and I haven't had any urge to upgrade since I received it in October.

In fact, I like it more than the DAC1.

I spent a few hours with my brand new DA100 the other day and found it to be a significant improvement from the Squeezebox 3's DAC. I ran it using SB3 as transport, canamp and k701s. I'll post further impressions in the DA100 thread once I get some serious listening time down.

Work is keeping me away from my headphone rig but I'll get some time tonight and all of next week to burn it in and have a proper listen.
