Where can I find genuine or high-quality (made of leather, not leatherette, that's softer than those used in AKG K240 pads) replacement pads (around 4 inch diameter) for SR-5s at a reasonable price (<$30/pair). I contacted the Stax service center via email, but didn't get any response. I may call them later, but I am sure that the pads will cost a ton from them. The AKG K240 pads fit well, but the harder leather changed the sound quite a bit (boomier bass). I also tried some 4" leatherette pads that totally killed the bass.

Many thanks.

Out of curiosity: I also have a pair of Koss A250s. Does anyone know if the Lambda 202/303/404 pads are dimensionally comparable to those of A250s (I can find ways to stick pads onto the A250s)? A250s are too bright for my taste, and their leatherette pads may play a role.

Well, they are made of man-made (not real, if that's what you meant) leather of very high quality, at least the ones on my pair. Where can I get the Beyer ones? Thanks!
